Today on Twitter I saw an article that came across from Inman News, an industry trade journal. What I loved about the article is that it gives a wonderful, yet short, history of how houses are built and the comparison of the costs of labor and building materials over the years and how over time they have switched places in terms of which is more expensive. It’s basically why houses have become so cookie cutter and therefore homogenous in nature unless you built a truly custom home. It might make you look at your home a little differently, depending on what kind of home you live in, and appreciate some of the details a bit more as well.
