Upcoming road construction in Renton at Duvall Ave and Coal Creek Pkwy

If you’re considering a home in the NE section of Renton you’ll want to know that some upcoming construction may put a cramp in your commute.  Granted, the widening of the Duvall Ave and Coal Creek Parkway route will eventually make for a better commute but for roughly a year it will make for some potentially maddening times for those that live in the area, like some of our clients up in Summerwind and the Highlands.  Another community potentially affected will be Briarwood.

You can find more info on this road closure and updates of the construction progress at: www.duvall.rentonwa.gov

Some of the good things being added will be curbs, gutters, sidewalks and bicycle lanes where there were none before.  Overhead power lines are also going to be put underground so there is hope for fewer power outages in the future due to windstorms or other natural disaster type issues (ice, snow, etc).
