A friend of mine is one of the employees at an interesting new start up in Seattle called HomeSavvi (www.HomeSavvi.com). It seems that my buddy has finally been able to combine his love of working at start ups and doing home remodeling into one place! 🙂 That’s good for him, and hopefully soon to be good for the home remodeling public.
As far as I can tell, and from what little I’ve been told so far, it looks like the site may provide a way for home owners to research and find reputable builders, contractors, and architects for their projects. Also available will be things like retailer sites with discounts on products and “virtual binders” for clicking on ideas for what you hope to create in your home.
Best of all, there is a likelihood of being able to track your progress, particularly if there are multiple contractors involved and methods to check on things such as the ever elusive permitting status.
