Need a way to remove cigarette smell from a property?

I recently took a look at a listing potential with a persistent cigarette smell in the property. To get it ready for sale, I’ve been seeking out a way to get it removed.  The sad part is that a contractor has already replaced the carpet and the walls have been painted – and supposedly “shellacked” to seal them.

All I know is that my allergies got flared up quickly and it caused serious problems for me for a week.

I did a little research with a company I work with regularly (and which I refer often) called Crew Inc.  The owner, Scott Weigel, is a great guy and is quite knowledgeable.  He offered up an option whereby they can go in and do an ozone treatment that will help remove the smell.  For $300 in this just under 1,000 sqft property, that’s a price that’s well worth it.

I’ll be working with the client to get it worked out and will try to follow up with comments on how well it worked. I’m very curious and hope to find a new “trick” for making what seem like unsellable listings to become saleable!

Because as we all know…. “if it smells, it doesn’t sell!”
